General Review

You can enjoy very high quality and delicious Tonkatsu. If you want to eat Tonkatsu, you can’t go wrong with this restaurant.

That said, the restaurant still seemed to be very popular, and there were endless lines of customers waiting to be seated throughout the day. The Mandarin Gallery is home to many good restaurants, but this one seemed to be the busiest among them.

I can’t complain and recommend this Tonkatsu restaurant! Very grateful to be able to eat this in Singapore😊

Atmosphere

The store is located on the second floor of the Mandarin Gallery. The large sign with the store name is very eye-catching.

Next door is beni Singapore, a Michelin-starred French restaurant run by a Japanese chef.

I visited at lunchtime on a holiday and the restaurant was very busy 😊

There is also table seating across the aisle.

During my stay of less than an hour, the line of customers waiting for a table never stopped. However, the turnover is rather quick, so I don’t think you have to wait for a very long time. In my case, I was able to be seated in about 10 minutes.

Menu

The restaurant offers a wide range of menu items based on Tonkatsu, from the standard Tonkatsu set meal to Katsudon (pork cutlet on rice) and Katsu curry. Miso katsu (pork cutlet with miso paste) is also available, as if from Nagoya.

This was my first visit, so I ordered Deep fried pork loin set (160g).As indicated on the menu, you can choose between white rice or 10-grain rice.A jumbo set (250g) is also available for those who want to eat a lot.

Soon after, my food arrived.

Isn’t it a very thick and beautiful pork cutlet 😆

By the way, you can eat as much cabbage as you want and ask for more when you run out.

I also appreciate the sweet, dry, and salt plates. You can enjoy three different tastes. This sauce is placed at the table.

160g is a very good size and highly recommended. The batter is crispy and the pork inside is very juicy, a very high quality pork cutlet 🐖.

I thought the white rice was very tasty as well, but it is cooked in an oven. I heard that Ma Maison is the only one in Singapore that cooks rice in an oven.

It was a very satisfying lunch!

Price

  • Deep fried pork loin set (160g) $23.8

The quality is so high that I can’t help but pay this much for it 😅.

This menu is the most affordable in this restaurant.

Summary

Again, they serve very high quality tonkatsu.

Tonkatsu restaurants can be quite hit or miss, but this one is a definite choice! If you are ever in Orchard, why not stop by 😊.

I would like to repeat and recommend this good restaurant 🎵.
