General Review

Many people know of this famous restaurant when it comes to Tendon in Singapore.

As a specialty restaurant, you can enjoy high quality Tendon. You will be very satisfied not only with the taste, but also with the volume. We recommend that you visit the restaurant with an empty stomach.

This time I visited the restaurant before 12:00 noon on a Sunday. I was lucky enough to be seated at the counter right away, but you should probably expect to wait a bit, as you frequently see a line out front of the restaurant.

The quality is comparable to Tendon at good Japanese restaurants.

It is a good place to go and highly recommended!

Atmosphere

The appearance of the restaurant is completely Japanese.

In Japan, they have a restaurant near Yurakucho station in Tokyo. I often went to Yurakucho for dinner, but I didn’t know that.

I found out that they are affiliated with “Tonkotsu Ou Keisuke” and “Gyoza Ou Keisuke”, both of which are just a short walk from here.Keisuke Group restaurants are very popular in this area of Tanjong Pagar.

A very eye-catching menu sign is placed in front of the restaurant. It seems that many people are attracted by this and enter the restaurant.

This time, perhaps because it was Sunday, I was able to slip into the last counter seat without waiting in line. Lucky me!

The restaurant has a relaxed kappo-style atmosphere, centered around a counter.

There was a decent amount of table seating behind me, so groups of people can dine together.

As soon as you are seated, you will be brought a menu.

Meal

Here is the menu list.

BUTA TAMA’s Tendon is the Singaporean way. It seems to be a menu item not found in Japan.

You can change to a large serving of rice for +$1 and spicy sauce for another +$1. The spicy option is also very Singaporean.

I also heard that you can change the miso soup to udon for +$3.

I had a hard time deciding which one to order, but when in doubt, I followed the rule of top left (the restaurant’s most recommended menu is placed on the top left, so you should choose it when you first visit the restaurant!) ), I ordered the Seafood Tendon.

On the table, there are pickles that you can take as much as you want. This kind of service makes me happy! I feel Japan.

It tastes very relaxing. Tendon is a bowl of rice topped with pickles.

Soon after, miso soup and chawanmushi were served.

I thought it would be only miso soup, so it was an unexpected surprise that there would also be chawanmushi!

And this chawanmushi is excellent! The mozuku seaweed on top does a great job and makes it refreshing.

The miso soup was also excellent, using very elegant tasting white miso. I usually drink instant miso soup, so it was obvious to me that the taste was completely different from that of instant miso soup.

And While I was enjoying the appetizers?, the main course of seafood tendon arrived.

What do you think of the impact of this appearance? The prawn tempura towering to the heavens is quite appealing! The seafood tempura rice bowl contains two prawns, salmon, scallops, white fish, squid, vegetables, and a half-boiled egg. The volume is already outstanding!

When you crack open the half-boiled egg underneath, you will find a thick yolk. When mixed with the egg and served with the tempura, it is a perfect dish.

I was insanely full.

If you go, we recommend that you make sure you are hungry.

Price

  • Seafood Tendon (with Miso Soup and Chawanmushi) $17.9

This time, I did not add any toppings and served it plain.

This is the most expensive tendon at this restaurant. It tastes delicious and the generous portion will satisfy you.

The cheapest choice starts at $13.9 for the Chicken & Mushroom Tendon.

Summary

It is a very famous restaurant and you may have been there before.

If you are in the mood for tendon, this is definitely a great place to come for now.

I am very grateful to be able to eat tendon of this quality in Singapore.

It is a good place to go and highly recommended.
