A very nice Swiss restaurant in Tanjong Pagar【#11 Singapore Recommended Restaurant “Coucou Authentic Swiss Restaurant and Bar”】

This time (again!?) I would like to introduce “Coucou Authentic Swiss Restaurant and Bar”, a Swiss restaurant in Tanjong Pagar.

I had never been to a Swiss restaurant before and was very excited! Please read the review to the end!

But still, Tanjong Pagar has so many good stores.

General Review

How much do you know about Swiss cuisine?

I knew very little about Swiss cuisine, so I went there largely out of curiosity, but it turned out to be a bonanza of a restaurant!

The relaxed atmosphere was very cozy and as you would expect from a European restaurant. The staff was also very attentive.

The food was very tasty and made me want to learn more about Swiss cuisine. And it made me want to go to Switzerland.

That’s how favorable I found the restaurant, and I highly recommend a visit!

Atmosphere

From the outside, it is very stylish. Once you step through the gate, you will feel like you are in Europe.

Here is the sign for the store, which you can easily find along Craig. St.

You can see the look of the restaurant when you walk through the gate. Very nice!

In addition to indoor seating, outdoor seating is also available. I used the indoor seating this time, but the outdoor seating is also located on the restaurant’s premises, so you can enjoy your meal without worrying about people on the street.

Here is a look at the interior of the restaurant.

The atmosphere is very natural and relaxing with indirect lighting.

Switzerland is known for its beautiful natural environment, and the theme of “harmony with nature” is reflected in interior design. There seems to be a trend to actively incorporate natural materials and natural tones 🪵.

When I visited, a group in the back was having a birthday party. It seems that you can ask the restaurant to make such a production as well. It is a great restaurant for anniversaries.

Swiss cuisine is broadly divided into,

are well-known.

Cheese fondue is probably the most famous Swiss cuisine. In addition to that, potatoes and sausages have also grown up to be specialty dishes because of the strong influence of French and German cuisine.

So, I would like to introduce the dishes I ordered.

First of all, drinks. To our delight, you can order these drinks at a discount during Happy Hour from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM. How conscientious of them to set this time!

I ordered the SINGAPORE LAGER 🍺.

The first dish I ordered was a croquette-like dish called One Cheese Dome.

One of the traditional Swiss specialties, it is filled with rich cheese. It goes great with beer.

It was introduced with a description at the very beginning of the menu list, so it seems to be a very standard dish. (Top left here.)

And here is the Side Salad I ordered to go along with it.

It is served with the green dressing on the One Cheese Dome plate. Oh my gosh, this is so good !!!! The dressing is excellent! I was amazed. To be honest, this salad was probably the best dish we ordered this time. LOL!

When you visit, I definitely recommend that you order Side Salad with your order!

And here is what I ordered for the main dish: Emince de Veau a la Zurichoise. yes, I don’t know what you are talking about when I see the name of the dish. lol… here is a picture!

The description reads “Traditional Zurich Style Veal Ragout Served with Rosti”. Rosti is a kind of potato pancake and refers to the potatoes in the foreground of the photo. This was served with veal stew. This is also a traditional Swiss dish.

And this dish was also a winner! I’ve become a big fan of Rosti’s, especially as a potato lover myself!

The stew is also very tasty, with a simple seasoning that brings out the flavors of the ingredients, and when paired with the rosti, it is a perfect accompaniment to the dish.

And finally, here is the side dish I ordered for a little more. Green asparagus.

Each asparagus was very thick and seasoned with butter and garlic, a perfect combination with white wine! I was very satisfied.

The price is well worth it. The main course, “Emince de Veau a la Zurichoise” may seem a bit expensive, but it is the perfect size for two people to share, so I would definitely recommend sharing it with family and friends.

Summary

I recommend this restaurant with great satisfaction. I would definitely repeat myself.

I didn’t order it this time, but next time I would love to try the cheese fondue and sausage dishes. I am sure they will be delicious. ☺️

Again, I had no idea Swiss food could be so delicious. It made me want to get to know Switzerland better.

The atmosphere of the restaurant is also very nice. I think it is a wonderful restaurant that can be used for a very wide range of occasions, from everyday use to anniversaries.
